Service Description

Join us for a two-part childbirth preparation series designed to empower expectant couples with knowledge, confidence, and practical tools for labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. Classes are held on two consecutive Wednesdays from 5:00–7:30 PM and cost $85 per couple. Payment can be made online during registration or in person—whichever is most convenient for you. Recommended Timing: This class is ideal for those in their early third trimester, but all are welcome—even if your due date is near. Every bit of preparation counts. Class 1: Understanding Labor & Building Confidence In the first session, we’ll explore the anatomy and stages of labor, what to expect throughout the process, and how to recognize when it's time to head to the hospital. We’ll also discuss what aspects of labor are within your control and how to cope with the ones that aren’t. You’ll learn and practice effective labor positions and breathing techniques to use at home and during labor. We’ll also provide practical resources, including hospital packing lists, birth plan templates, and information on perineal massage. Class 2: Birth, Recovery & Newborn Care The second session focuses on the pushing stage, the golden hour after birth, cesarean sections, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding basics, and newborn care. A hospital tour will also be included, pending RMH availability. What to Bring: Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement, as you and your birth partner will be practicing various laboring positions.

Hello! My name is Amanda Pyles, and I am a registered nurse with over 7 years of experience in the field. My passion lies in Labor and Delivery and being blessed with the privilege to be a part of family's beginnings. Throughout my career, I have come realize that educating patients in the hospital setting can be challenging due to time constraints and the environment. However, research has shown that well-informed patients can reduce the length of labor, the likelihood of c-sections, and birth trauma. I believe in the power of education and would love to work with you to achieve the birth of your dreams. Let's learn together!
